ACPAT Category A Equine and Human Physiotherapist. Janet is a fully qualified veterinary Physiotherapist, having undergone 9 years of study to achieve her status starting with GCSE’s, A Levels, then a degree in human physic, followed by 2 years of clinical work. This study built the foundations for the animal studies, which then took an additional 2 years. She has extensive experience working with horses, having competed since the age of eleven, achieving Senior Nations Cup status, and has trained riders of all ages and levels. These skills have left her well placed to not only understand the physiotherapy needs of the horse and rider, but also the stresses and strains which occur in competition, whether physical or psychological
First, an assessment by Janet to establish whether any problems are muscular or skeletal based which might benefit from treatment
Time: approx. 20 mins Cost: £30 per horse or rider
Second, treatment by Janet
Time: as required Cost: £35 per horse or rider (this element not always necessary)
Third, if required, a lesson with Richard Barton (leading International Showjumper and Nations Cup Rider, well known in the North of England as an excellent Trainer of Horses and Riders, regularly competing at high level) to ascertain the treatment effect and results.
